- Authentication and encryption
SimpLite-ICQ/AIM authenticates your contacts using RSA keys up to 2048 bits.
Encryption is done using the following algorithms: AES (up to 128 bits) or Twofish.
Those proven modern algorithms guarantee a strong security of your online conversations.
- Support of the ICQ/AIM network
SimpLite-ICQ/AIM secures your ICQ/AIM conversations. SimpLite-ICQ/AIM detects when your conversations start and
automatically negociate encryption with the remote user, provided he is also using SimpLite-ICQ/AIM.
- Easy installation and configuration
SimpLite-ICQ/AIM ships as a Microsoft Installer package. It is easily installed by any Microsoft Windows user.
A configuration wizard then helps configuring SimpLite-ICQ/AIM.
The SimpLite-ICQ/AIM graphical insterface allows you to quickly customize SimpLite-ICQ/AIM by attributing
sounds or messages to each cryptographic event. You are thus directly informed when starting a
conversation whether it is secured or not.
The graphical interface also features a key manager for managing your key pairs or foreign keys.
- Multiple keys per user/contact
SimpLite-ICQ/AIM users can have up to two private keys and assign them to specific ICQ/AIM accounts. If you use
two accounts, you can thus automatically encrypt your conversations with different keys.
SimpLite-ICQ/AIM can also store multiple public keys per single contact, for example if one of your contacts is using
a different key when he is at work or at home.
SimpLite-ICQ/AIM requires one of the following operating systems:
- Windows 95/98/Me
- Windows NT4.0
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP
SimpLite-ICQ/AIM also requires a client for connecting to the ICQ/AIM service. We recommend the official ICQ/AIM
client, however SimpLite-ICQ/AIM is compatible with most clients including Trillian.
