- Open GAIM, open the Accounts window.

- Select the AIM account you wish to connect to Simp and click Modify

- Click Show more options.
- Select Proxy type: SOCKS 4
- Set the Host field to 127.0.0.1
- Set the Port field to 15190 (Simp 2.2.x) or 15191 (Simp 2.1.x)
